Joshua Tree National Park, Mojave Desert (California, USA, 2016)

Desertic

Joshua Tree symbolizes faith and hope in the midst of aridity, as this succulent grows in the very adverse and dry conditions of the Mojave Desert. It was named Joshua Tree by Mormon settlers after the Old Testament prophet Joshua, because its branches seem raising arms to pray, embracing the blue sky.
